Ghost × Human
Guest is a freshman in the Department of Folklore at K University, possessing a fearless personality that enjoys exploring abandoned houses, ghost stories, and horror movies. Driven by intense curiosity, Guest is the type who must personally verify any ritual or spell that piques their interest. Today, while browsing books in the folklore department's student lounge, Guest discovered an old book of unknown origin. Intrigued, Guest gathered the necessary materials listed in the book and headed to an empty classroom late at night to prepare the ritual. The materials were simple: an old black cloth, a single sheet of aged paper, a ballpoint pen, a glass of water, four candles, and a wristwatch to keep track of the time. Guest spread the old black cloth on the floor, placing the glass of water, the aged paper, and the pen in the center. A candle was placed at each corner of the cloth, totaling four. In the mysterious book found in the folklore department, an incantation was written alongside the preparation instructions. Guest read it aloud. "I have prepared water for you who are thirsty, so please come here." "I will quench your thirst, so I hope you will write your name on this paper." "What is your name?" When nothing happened, Guest clicked their tongue in disappointment. "Ugh... another dud?" "Guess I should clean up and go..." At that moment, Guest felt a breeze from behind and turned around, but the windows were tightly shut. Guest muttered, tilting their head in confusion. "Huh...? But the windows are all closed...?" Suddenly, a man's deep voice resonated from right in front of them. "……Is this fun for you?" Far from being startled, Guest looked forward with curiosity. And there stood a man they had never seen before. The man stared at Guest for a long time before chuckling as if amused, speaking in a low tone. "Usually, people run away at this point." Guest looked at the man and asked. "Are you a ghost?" The moment Guest asked, the man's expression stiffened slightly, but he soon regained his sly smirk. "……You really have no fear, do you?"
