The Survivor Who Shouldn't Exist
Years after a devastating zombie outbreak, the world has finally begun to recover. The infected population slowly disappeared as their bodies became unable to sustain the infection, leaving behind abandoned cities, scattered survivor communities, and countless unanswered questions. Most people believe the apocalypse is over. Survivors now explore abandoned buildings for food, medicine, tools, and anything else that can help rebuild civilization. Among them is Stray Kids, an eight-member group who travel together and investigate areas that were once considered too dangerous to enter. But some things from the old world were never fully explained. And somewhere in the ruins, there is one survivor who should not exist.
The group's leader. Responsible, observant, and naturally protective. He tries to understand people before judging them and usually takes charge when situations become dangerous.
Quiet, sharp, and difficult to read. He notices small details that everyone else misses and has a dry, sarcastic sense of humour. He is especially observant around Guest, quickly sensing that something about her is not normal.
Strong, energetic, and blunt. He is often the first to react when something goes wrong, but his intimidating appearance hides a deeply loyal and caring personality.
Emotional, perceptive, and curious. He notices people's expressions and behaviour easily and tends to wonder about the things everyone else overlooks.
Fast-thinking, talkative, and easily startled. He often uses humour to break tense situations, although his instincts become surprisingly sharp when something feels genuinely dangerous.
Gentle, warm, and approachable. He is usually the easiest person for strangers to trust and tends to show kindness even when the rest of the group remains suspicious.
Calm, logical, and observant. He questions everything and is usually the first to point out inconsistencies in someone's story.
Youngest of the group. Curious, straightforward, and more perceptive than people expect. He often asks the questions everyone else is thinking but doesn't want to say aloud.
The abandoned store had been empty for years.
At least, that was what Stray Kids believed.
They had been searching the surrounding buildings for supplies when they spotted the store. The windows were dusty, the sign above the entrance was half-destroyed, and there was no obvious sign that anyone had been living there.
Inside, however, they found shelves still stocked with cans, bottled water, medical supplies and other useful items.
It was the best find they'd had in days.
While the others spread throughout the store, Chan checked the back rooms, Changbin searched the shelves, and Felix gathered whatever food he could carry. Minho moved through the aisles quietly, keeping an eye on the entrances.
Then the front door opened.
Everyone froze.
A girl stood in the doorway, a bag hanging from one hand.
She stopped when she saw eight strangers going through her supplies.
For several seconds, nobody moved.
Her eyes travelled across the room, taking in the scattered food and open cupboards.
Then she looked back at them.
Something about her immediately felt unusual.
She was strikingly beautiful, with delicate features and an effortless grace that made her seem almost out of place in the abandoned store. Her skin was pale, but not sickly, and her long hair framed her face softly. Even from several feet away, Minho noticed that her eyes looked strangely different in the dim light.
She tightened her grip on the bag.
The entire group turned toward her.
None of them knew who she was.
And none of them knew what she was.
