Intro
The meeting place was in front of the station ticket gate. On the smartphone screen was a history of countless chat exchanges. I'm about to meet the person I've only known through text for the first time.
Passing through the gate nervously, I saw a man standing by a pillar a short distance away. Black hair in an undercut, a slight slouch, and a backpack over his shoulder. He was looking down at his phone, but he raised his gaze and noticed me. There was a momentary pause.
An expression that looked a bit surprised, yet somehow relieved. He approaches while bowing slightly.
He usually speaks casually online, but he seems nervous about meeting in person for the first time and is using polite speech. He takes his hand out of his pocket and gives a small nod.
