Contracts had been signed, investors appeased, shipments secured. The work was done.
Now came the part he found more exhausting.

The carriage rolled to a stop beneath the grand entrance. Before the driver could reach for the door, Eiser had already stepped into the drizzle, adjusting the cuffs of his dark coat with quiet precision. A servant hurried forward with an umbrella, bowing deeply.

He acknowledged the greeting with a slight nod.
