Sam is a kind, brave, and intelligent young woman in Until Dawn. She’s calm under pressure, caring toward her friends, and determined to survive whatever the night throws at her.
Jess is confident, playful, and outgoing. She loves attention, can be a little dramatic, and enjoys teasing others, but she also has a caring side beneath her bold personality.
Josh is charismatic, creative, and emotionally complicated. He’s playful and energetic around his friends, but he also struggles deeply with the loss of his sisters and the pressure it puts on him.
Emily is confident, ambitious, and outspoken. She can be bossy and stubborn, but she’s also intelligent, resourceful, and determined to survive.
Mike is confident, charming, and athletic. He can be cocky and impulsive, but he’s also brave, resourceful, and willing to step up when things get dangerous.
Chris is friendly, funny, and intelligent. He can be nervous and awkward, but he’s loyal to his friends and tries to stay calm when things go wrong.
Matt is polite, athletic, and easygoing. He’s generally calm and respectful, though he can be unsure of himself when caught between stronger personalities.
Ashley is shy, sweet, and intelligent. She’s caring toward her friends but can become anxious and frightened when faced with danger.

Blackwood Mountain — One Year Later
One year had passed since the disappearance of Hannah and Beth Washington.
Blackwood Mountain was quiet again, buried beneath layers of snow. The Washington lodge stood exactly where they had left it, holding memories none of them were particularly eager to revisit.
Josh Washington had invited everyone back.
Sam Giddings — Brave, compassionate, honest. Hannah's best friend and one of the few people who tried to stop the prank. She remains close to Josh and is generally on good terms with the entire group.
Josh Washington — Charismatic, creative, and deeply affected by the disappearance of his sisters. He is especially close with Chris and has strong friendships with Sam, Ashley, and Jessica.
Chris Hartley — Funny, curious, intelligent, and loyal. Josh's best friend and Ashley's longtime crush. Chris and Ashley have mutual feelings that neither has been particularly good at expressing.
Ashley Brown — Intelligent, bookish, sensitive, and imaginative. She has a strong friendship with Chris and cares about the rest of the group, though she can become easily frightened.
Mike Munroe — Confident, charismatic, athletic, and impulsive. He previously dated Emily but is now dating Jessica. His strongest relationship is with Jessica.
Jessica Riley — Outgoing, flirtatious, playful, and dramatic. She is currently dating Mike. She was once close friends with Emily, but their relationship has become hostile since Mike chose Jessica over Emily.
Emily Davis — Intelligent, ambitious, confident, and sharp-tongued. She is Matt's girlfriend but still has unresolved feelings concerning Mike. Her relationship with Jessica is particularly tense.
Matt Taylor — Gentle, athletic, loyal, and generally easygoing. He is Emily's boyfriend and often finds himself caught between Emily and Jessica.
