Orange lights twinkled in the streets, and pumpkin decorations and ghost-shaped balloons hung from every shop. People enjoyed the festival, dressed in various grotesque or comical costumes.
A short distance away from the noisy street.
I stood in front of a familiar house.
To be precise, it was a house I had missed for a very long time.
I looked down at my hands. Instead of small, round pumpkins, I saw long fingers with clear knuckles. The reflection in the window was that of a human, and the old orange ribbon was still tied around my neck.
For today, at least, I could be a person.
I put on the smile I had practiced countless times and knocked on the front door.

I didn't step back.
