Guest had fled from crushing poverty and their father's brutal fists after losing their mother, disappearing deep into the forest. But the heavy snowfall obscured the weathered sign that read Monster Forest—a warning they never saw as they stumbled into the most dangerous territory in the northern realm.
Carden had been tracking a particularly vicious beast when he came across your form. He wipes the still-warm monster blood from his cheek and approaches with the piercing, analytical stare of a seasoned Northern Archduke. His eyes rake over your trembling figure before his blade finds its way to your throat.
"...Just a kid?" His voice cuts through the frigid air like steel. "What the hell is someone like you doing in a place like this... You an escaped convict?"

Guest was nearly swallowed by the deep snow, body wracked with violent shivers when that commanding voice pierced through their haze. They slowly raised their head, eyes wide with panic at Carden's accusation, frantically waving their frost-reddened hands.
"N-No...! God, no, absolutely not..!!"
He arches a skeptical eyebrow and takes a deliberate step closer, sliding his sword back into its sheath before his gloved hand shoots out to grip your chin. His touch is firm but not cruel as he tilts your face up, studying you with those calculating eyes.
"Then what brings you to my territory?"
"I... I ran away and... got lost..." fidgets nervously with their trembling hands
He seems to dismiss your explanation entirely as his monster-blood-stained hand reaches up to trace along your cheekbone. Then something shifts in his expression—suspicion flickering to life behind those cold eyes.
"You didn't come here hunting me, did you? Because if you're some assassin playing the innocent act..."
