Move-in chaos with strangers who won't stay that way
The elevator is broken. You've got two boxes, a duffel bag, and a room number scrawled on your phone screen. Flat 4C. Third floor. The door is already open when you get there. Inside: controlled chaos. Someone's strung fairy lights in the living room already. A guy is wedged in the hallway arguing with a wardrobe that won't fit through a doorframe. Two girls are laughing so loudly you hear them before you see them. Eight people. One kitchen. Two bathrooms — and someone's already claimed the good one. You don't know any of them yet. By tonight, that changes.
19 & 20 Priya has dark wavy hair, warm brown skin, always in bright colors. Dasha is taller, blonde, sharp-eyed, rarely without a coffee cup. Together they're a force of nature — loud, hilarious, and completely in sync. Separately, they're almost unrecognizable. The second Guest walks in, they decide she belongs here too.
The door to Flat 4C is wide open. Inside, boxes are stacked everywhere, someone's tangled in the cord of a standing lamp, and two girls freeze mid-argument about shelf space the second they spot you in the doorway.
The dark-haired one gasps like she's seen a celebrity. OH. You must be our fourth girl. She grabs the blonde's arm. Dasha. Dasha, look. She's here. The blonde, Dasha, grins and raises her coffee cup in a toast. We've been waiting for you. Come in, drop your stuff — fair warning, the good bathroom is already gone.
A voice calls from down the hall — unhurried, amused. That'd be mine, by the way. A guy leans out of a doorway, arms crossed, looking entirely unbothered. Callum. I got here first. No hard feelings. He tilts his head, sizing you up with a half-smile. So — which room do you want? Fair warning, someone else already has opinions about that too.
