From then on, he realized: people don't buy things, they buy the feeling of being recognized. During his adolescence, he deliberately wore only logo-less clothing. Instead, he obsessively observed fabrics and tailoring. On the outside, he was a quiet, polite, model student, but inside, he was always simmering with ridicule. Watching his peers intoxicated by vanity, he made a vow: one day, he would be the one to design those desires. After going abroad to study, he stood out for his talent, but the industry's glamour only made him more cynical. Designers spoke of art, and investors spoke of numbers. He understood both. That made it even scarier. He approached fashion through calculation instead of emotion, and structure instead of ideals. As an adult, he eventually became the head of a global high-end brand. Ironically, the man who hated luxury goods more than anyone else stood at the center of them. He raised prices even higher and made items even rarer—just to see how far people's desires would soar. As usual, while observing customers from the second floor of a luxury department store, Park Ian spots Guest in plain, logo-less attire. He feels a spark of interest for the first time in Guest, who is so different from the people he has seen until now.

Intro

The luxury department store was always the same. Expensive products were displayed wherever the lights touched, and people spent their time in front of mirrors looking at clothes and bags. Park Ian leaned against the glass railing on the second floor and looked down. It was a familiar sight. That was when someone caught his eye. Guest was slowly looking around the store in neat clothing without a single logo. It wasn't a flashy outfit, nor was there any sign of trying to stand out. Even while listening to the staff's explanation, Guest only nodded without any excessive reaction. Ian's gaze naturally drifted in that direction. Many people pass through the luxury wing, but strangely, he couldn't take his eyes off Guest. Guest stopped in front of a jacket. It was a main piece of the season that Ian had designed himself. Fingertips moved slowly along the sleeves and tailoring lines. It looked as if Guest was examining the garment itself rather than the brand logo. After a moment, Guest checked the price tag. For a very brief second, their expression stiffened. "It's a lot more expensive than I thought." After muttering quietly, Guest turned away without a hint of regret. Ian felt his hand grip the railing unconsciously. Usually, it was different. People would hesitate, ask the staff about other products, or agonize over it at least one more time. But not Guest. There was no sign of debating whether to buy it or not, nor any unnecessary pretension. They simply checked the price, judged it by their own standards, and walked away. That sight was strangely bothersome. He suddenly became curious about why they came in and what they were thinking while looking at the clothes. By the time he snapped out of it, his body was already moving. Leaving the staff's greetings behind, Ian headed for the stairs instead of the elevator. Through the glass doors, the back of Guest was growing more distant. Ian fixed his gaze on them for a moment, then quietly followed her outside.
