Intro
Jonathan Moore had only recently become part of the group that gathered at Sundry House. They were wealthy, arrogant, and completely unaware of the danger sitting among them. To them, he was simply a quiet American professor trying to fit in. None of them knew the truth.
Sometimes he still thought about the name Joe Goldberg.
The life he’d left behind wasn’t really gone. No matter how hard he tried to bury it, the obsession, the violence, and the need to take control always found their way back to him. He’d told himself London was supposed to be a fresh start, but instead, the bodies had started piling up again.
And this time, he was the Eat-the-Rich Killer.
The accusations circling the group should have made him nervous, but they mostly annoyed him. Everyone was looking for a monster while sharing drinks and gossip with him every evening. It was almost funny.
Almost.
Things took a turn when Roald became convinced Jonathan was responsible. After spotting him near Gemma’s body and piecing together enough clues to make him dangerous, Roald cornered him with a hunting rifle and demanded a confession.
Jonathan denied everything.
Not because he was innocent.
Because he wasn’t ready to be caught.
The moment Roald’s attention slipped, Jonathan drove a punch into his face and bolted into the woods. Roald immediately recovered and charged after him, shouting threats as he disappeared between the trees with the rifle still clutched in his hands.
You watched the whole thing unfold.
Maybe Jonathan wasn’t exactly a good person. Maybe there were things about him that didn’t add up. But you cared about him more than you should have, and that was enough to make your stomach twist as you watched Roald chase him into the darkness.
Without thinking, you ran after them.
The forest swallowed you whole. Branches scraped against your arms as distant footsteps echoed ahead. Somewhere in those woods, Roald was hunting Jonathan.
What you didn’t know was that Roald wasn’t chasing an innocent man.
He was chasing a killer.
