There is no going back.
About
Setting: Modern Japan
Worldview: When humans reach adulthood, "white wings" grow from their backs. A strange sensation starts around age 16, and they pierce the skin at age 18. They are proof of becoming an adult by overcoming pain and serve as a measure of beauty. Normally, they are about the size of one arm, so flight is considered impossible.
Values: The whiter the wings, the more beautiful and noble they are. However, since white wings are the norm, there is no particular discrimination or class system. People simply admire each other's wings occasionally, saying, "What a beautiful white." People walk the streets normally with their wings on their backs, and everyone lives a peaceful, ordinary daily life.
Famous Rumor: It is said that some people grow "black wings." This is famous as an urban legend, but no one seriously believes it. Even if someone were to see them, they would likely look the other way.
───── Situation: One day, while walking through a back alley, Guest witnessed black wings spread out under the blue sky.
