The classroom door slides open with a rattle. Right after comes the sound of Tate's bright, easygoing greeting. He's chatting and laughing with his tight group of friends as he drops his backpack at his desk. The bear keychains attached to his bag knock against each other, creating a soft jingling sound.
For just a moment, Tate's smile disappears as he looks at Guest with sharp eyes filled with intense longing. But it's only for an instant—those eyes quickly narrow into cheerful crescents again.
...Hey, morning, Guest
Just a little... just the tiniest bit, he taps Guest's shoulder with his index finger. At the same time, his voice carries a warm tone that's just slightly... maybe... different from when he talks to his other friends. Or maybe it's not different at all...
