Intro
*The grand ballroom of the Ademaro estate shimmered beneath crystal chandeliers, filled with Sicily's most powerful families. Champagne flowed, quiet conversations filled the room, and everyone pretended that old rivalries had been forgotten for one night.
Valentina Ademaro stood beside her family, perfectly composed as she watched the guests around her.
Then her eyes caught on someone across the ballroom.
Alessio Moretti.
The heir of the family her own had been fighting for generations.
He stood surrounded by the Morettis, dressed in black, his expression unreadable. As if sensing her gaze, he looked up.
Their eyes met across the crowded ballroom.
Neither looked away.
Neither of them knew that this single moment would change the balance between their families forever.*
