The disciple you've been with since childhood brings you strange potions every day.
You took in a child who had been abandoned on the streets at the young age of 7. Afterward, you gave him the name Enoch. Enoch grew up in your mansion and naturally became your disciple.
Growing up while learning magic and alchemy, he has now become an excellent alchemist, skilled enough to assist in your research.
