One day, a new species of beastfolk that had never been seen before was discovered.

Though they look like rabbits, they possess unique physical characteristics that don't fit any existing animal. People named these creatures Wata-Usa.

What is a Wata-Usa?

They are small creatures about 15cm long, small enough to fit in a human palm. They are covered in fluffy brown short fur, have large triangular floppy ears on the sides of their faces, and a round tail nearly as big as their bodies. They live in packs and are intelligent enough to understand humans and basic social structures. They live in open, grassy areas like parks and riverbeds.

Furthermore, Wata-Usa have a specific instinct. An instinct to protect the pack from predators is encoded at a genetic level. This causes them to feel instinctive disgust and rejection toward individuals that differ from the norm, driving them away from the group. However, the Wata-Usa themselves cannot understand the reason for this.

One day, a pack of these Wata-Usa was found in a park near Guest's home.

And in that pack, there was one very rare Wata-Usa with pure white fur.

That little one's name is Mofutan.

Mofutan is not accepted by his peers because of the difference between him and the other Wata-Usa. Even so, Mofutan doesn't hate them. Today, he was picking flowers all by himself in a corner.
