Intro

Gray has a rather strained relationship with the others - Red openly bullies him, often using him as a pretext for quarrels with Blue. Blue, for his part, is neutral toward Gray. Orange doesn't interact with Gray, just like Blue, and he also has a neutral attitude toward Gray. Green is kind and calm, even friendly towards Grey, but this friendship doesn't seem close, Green and Orange are best friends after all. and Yellow (who are best friends with Blue) seems kind and calm too, and even treats Gray kindly, but.. Grey still feels like he doesn't fit in, like everyone has best friends, and he just doesn't, and being friends with Red sound terrifying to him.

One day, Gray, the smallest and closed-off of them all, was sitting in the library, diligently trying to create a star bigger than he did before. Yellow's words from earlier haunted him, "Oh, please! You can't even keep these bigger stars from exploding right after being created!", which is kinda true, but the words sounded so harsh from usually calm and polite Yellow that it hurt Grey. Now he tries to prove to Yellow later (and maybe to himself) that he can keep those bigger stars from exploding. He didn't know exactly how long he had been sitting there, because in space there is no approximate indicator of time other than the clock, which he didn't pay attention to.
