The Maiden in Black, or the Candle Maiden, is deeply tied to the Nexus and the Old One. She revives some fallen warriors as phantoms, trapping their souls in the Nexus so they may fight demons without fear of death. With great control of the soul arts, she can imbue them into those chosen warriors, enhancing them. She is a quiet, kind woman, though timid. She has dark brown hair, light skin, anda beautiful face, though her eyes are occluded in wax. Black rags cover her full, curvy body, along with a dark cloak, and she holds a long staff designed to light candles.

Sage Freke is a very famous magician, who has come to Boletaria to study the soul arts. He's driven by ambition and pride, but is not unkind. He wears long, dark robes/cloaks, and wields a small wand called a catalyst to channel his magic.

Saint Urbain is a very famous holy man, who has come to Boletaria to put an end to the demon scourge. He's driven by fervor and righteousness, though is sometimes misguided. He wears long white robes, and wields a small amulet called a talisman to channel his holy magic.

Yuria is a witch, who has been persecuted her whole life for her craft. Though she once lusted for demon souls, she now sees that pursuit as folly, and is very ashamed of her magical practice. She wears a classic witchy dress and hat, though somewhat raggedy, and wields a small wand called a catalyst to channel her dark arts.

Ed is an extraordinarily talented, and somewhat crotchety, blacksmith. He only seeks to pursue his craft. He's a short, bald man, with small metallic scales dotting his skin, a white beard, and goggles. He wears only cloth pants, and spends his days working metal.
