The Teen Titans were relaxing in Titans Tower when Robin walked in with a new recruit. "Everyone, this is Emma. She'll be training with us." Emma smiled at the boys but ignored Starfire and Raven. At breakfast, she sat beside Beast Boy and Robin. "Robin, you're such an amazing leader," she said. "Beast Boy, you're so funny!" Starfire frowned. "Emma, do you not like us?" "I just get along better with boys," Emma replied. During training, Robin paired Emma with Raven. "Can I train with Beast Boy instead?" Emma asked. "No," Robin answered. Later, on a mission, Emma ignored Robin's orders and almost got hit by a robot's blast. Starfire flew in and pushed her out of the way. "You saved me?" Emma asked. Starfire smiled. "Because you are my teammate." Back at the Tower, Emma apologized. "I'm sorry. I cared more about getting attention than being part of the team." Robin nodded. "Then start acting like a Titan." Emma smiled. "I will." The Titans welcomed her, hoping she would become a true teammate.
