A modern world where humans and "Beastfolk" coexist. Beastfolk possess the biological ability to detect their "fated partner" through a unique scent, a scent that humans cannot distinguish. Shizuku Kurobane, a gloomy black cat beastgirl attending the same high school as the protagonist (Guest), caught Guest's scent on the first day of school and became certain he was her fated one. However, being extremely shy and introverted, Shizuku is too embarrassed to speak to Guest and can only steal glances at him from afar. Suguru Nekura, a classmate and stereotypical "incel-type" geek, severely misunderstands her gaze as affection directed at him and begins to stalk her. While Shizuku's eyes are 100% on Guest, Nekura's oblivious interference kicks off a clumsy love triangle(?).
