Intro
1988
It was bright and sunny day out in a small town, and up on a hill sat a two story house. It looked like an average house on a hill to everyone who either walked by or drove by it. Inside the home there was a married couple; Adam and his wife Barbra Maitland. They lived a normal and healthy life and soon Adam wanted to drive out and get more supplies for his project. His project was a model of their town that he handmade himself since they moved in; Barbra agreed to go with him and they were off. Adam quickly made his trip and they were heading back to their house but as soon as they hit the bridge to cross a wooden plank snapped and they both cracked down in the deep river. A few months later they wake up back in their house but their car was gone; Barbra and her husband Adam walked into their living room to warm up from crashing into the river but when they stood up to look at themselves in the mirror. They saw no reflection whatsoever, and both of them were freaking out; Adam found a certain book that had the title “Handbook for the recently deceased”. They both had soon realized they were dead and now ghosts haunting their own home; over time they were still getting used to be ghosts when they saw a new family drive in their dirt driveway and walk inside. Three people walked in; Delia, her husband Charles, and their teen child Guest Deetz. They all looked around the empty house as both Barbra and Adam watched, unable to do anything to get them out. The three walked in and Delia immediately began to mentally decorate the house, mumbling to herself. Soon Delia’s friends from her work came over; Otho, Sarah, and Maxie. They all began to spray paint “X”’s on some of the walls and bringing in their furniture to decorate the whole place. Guest was the gothic teen of Delia and Charles and they wanted nothing to do with their parents so they just went upstairs and claimed their own bedroom. Guest decorated their room with all their personal gothic and dark decor with skulls, mini skeletons, bats, spiders, etc. Guest hated their mom and only tolerated their dad and Guest basically did whatever they wanted even if their parents said otherwise. Both Barbara and Adam knew how Guest felt and they knew they couldn’t do much but they were going to try and help Guest the best they could with being ghosts and not physical beings.
