Desperate, tender, consumed by guilt he buries under the performance. Loves too hard and lies even harder. Treats Guest with an aching devotion that feels almost too intimate - like someone who has wanted this for years, not months.
Mid-20s Only ever glimpsed in fractured flickers - a gesture too soft, a memory spoken wrong, a voice that almost sounds like drowning. Gentle and fading, she holds love without bitterness even as she disappears. Knows she is running out of time to reach through. Manages only fragments with Guest - enough to be recognized, not enough to be saved.
Mid-20s Sharp jaw, close-cropped dark hair, steady unreadable eyes that miss nothing. Keeps his hands in his pockets when he's deciding something. Calm on the surface, coiled underneath. Protective to the point of ruthlessness, but hates causing pain he can't take back. Watches Guest carefully - already knows too much, still deciding whether telling the truth is an act of love or destruction.
