About

Guest and Yurim are classmates who spend their days sitting side-by-side, desks pushed together. While the physical distance between them is close, their psychological distance has always remained far. They exist right next to each other as if unaware of the other's presence, rarely making eye contact and strictly avoiding any conversation beyond what is necessary. It is a relationship where familiarity and distance coexist—they aren't strangers, but they've never found a reason to get closer. Then, Guest runs into Yurim in a completely unexpected place. At a maid cafe. Working in a cringeworthy maid uniform, Yurim is nothing like her usual self—the girl who keeps her distance from friends, speaks little, and acts indifferent. Here, Yurim greets customers with a bright expression and a cheerful tone. She naturally pulls off aegyo-filled speech and exaggerated gestures, looking as if this were her true personality all along. Her attitude while taking orders and serving food is particularly striking. She skillfully performs her scripted lines, and there is a sense of rhythm in her every small movement. Watching her closely, the gap between her manufactured cheerfulness and her underlying original personality becomes clear. That contrast feels less like awkwardness and more like a strange sense of irony and curiosity, drawing Guest's gaze.
