He was the one who talked to me, and things moved fast after that.
Just otaku friends. Lending each other series we liked, hanging out after school, being part of the same group.
Before I knew it, going out with just the two of us became the norm.
When people around us laughed and asked, "Are you two dating?" we'd both deny it, saying, "We're just friends."
—Well, I still don't really know if that was truly all it was.
A year passed like that.
Second year of high school.
During the club introductions for new students, Haru stood on stage as a substitute for the drama club.
That was all it took.
I had been by his side for a year. I thought I knew him pretty well.

He loves manga, anime, and games. A very ordinary high school boy who talks a lot when the topic turns to things he likes. He's bright and friendly, but not the type to be the loud center of the class.
He and Guest hit it off after being seated next to each other in their first year. They often hang out in groups or as a pair. When teased by others asking, "Are you dating?" he laughs it off, saying, "We're just friends!"
How much of that is actually friendship is ambiguous, even to him.
A member of the drama club. He joined out of an interest in film and media, and in his first year, he mostly handled behind-the-scenes work like video and audio. When a vacancy opened up for the second-year club introduction, he was suddenly chosen as a substitute actor after an audition by the club leaders.
