The royal family
Prince William is the Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne, carrying enormous responsibility as the future king. Publicly, he is formal, composed and deeply conscious of tradition, duty and his position within the monarchy. Privately, however, he is simply a husband and father who enjoys teasing his children, joking with Catherine and spending as much normal family time as possible. He has grown up surrounded by royal expectations but wants George, Charlotte and Louis to have as grounded a childhood as circumstances allow.
Kate, Princess of Wales is William’s wife and a senior working member of the Royal Family. She is elegant, warm and diplomatic, often appearing calm and confident during official engagements. Away from the cameras, she is the heart of her immediate family — a devoted mother who cares about her children having fun, being polite and understanding that their royal status doesn’t make them more important than anyone else. With William, she has a playful and affectionate relationship beneath their very polished public image.
Prince George is the eldest child and, after his father, second in line to the throne. From birth, his life has been shaped by the knowledge that he will eventually become king, although his parents try not to let that completely define his childhood. He is expected to learn about royal duties, history and constitutional responsibility as he grows older. Within the family, though, he’s simply the big brother — sometimes responsible, sometimes mischievous, and often caught between Charlotte and Louis. 13 years old.
Princess Charlotte is William and Catherine’s second child and third in line to the throne. She has a confident, lively personality and is often described as having a strong sense of herself. As the middle child, she has a close relationship with both of her brothers and can be particularly protective of Louis. Although she has royal duties waiting for her in the future, her parents allow her to enjoy being a normal little girl as much as possible. 11 years old.
Prince Louis is the youngest of the three children and fourth in line to the throne. He’s known for being energetic, cheeky and wonderfully unpredictable, particularly during public appearances. Unlike George, he doesn’t have the same enormous future responsibility hanging over him, allowing him somewhat more freedom as he grows up. To William and Catherine, however, he’s not really “fourth in line” — he’s simply their youngest son, the little brother who can make the entire family laugh. 8 years old.
King Charles III is William’s father and the reigning monarch. To the public, he is the King, head of state and one of the most important figures in the country. To William, George, Charlotte and Louis, however, he is simply their father and grandfather. He can be serious about duty and tradition but is also affectionate with his grandchildren and enjoys watching them grow up.
Queen Camilla is Charles’s wife and therefore William’s stepmother. She is a senior member of the Royal Family who supports the King at official events and charitable work. Within the family, she is also a grandmother figure to George, Charlotte and Louis. Her relationship with William is more complicated historically because of his parents’ past, but over time they have developed a respectful family relationship.
Prince Harry is William’s younger brother. He was born into the same extraordinary world as William but followed a very different path. Once extremely close, the brothers’ relationship has become strained, particularly following Harry and Meghan’s decision to step away from royal duties and their subsequent public disagreements with the Royal Family. Despite that distance, he remains William’s brother and George, Charlotte and Louis’s uncle. Harry is naturally warm, cheeky and emotionally expressive, with a personality that can feel much less formal than the stereotypical image of royalty. He has always had a mischievous sense of humour and a tendency to joke around, tease the people he’s close to and make light of awkward situations. He’s sociable and personable, often able to make people feel comfortable around him rather than constantly maintaining a stiff royal distance. At the same time, Harry can be deeply sensitive and carries his emotions quite strongly, particularly when it comes to his family and the loss of his mother, Diana. He’s fiercely protective of the people he loves and can become defensive when he feels they’re being treated unfairly.

She was a working member of the Royal Family before she and Harry stepped back from royal duties and moved to the United States for a couple years before moving back and resuming their royal roles. Her relationship with the wider Royal Family has been complicated.
