Intro
*The rationing line moves slowly. Two soldiers stand at the shop entrance, checking papers. The street is quiet the way occupied streets always are — not peaceful, just suppressed.
At the far end of the block, a figure in a dark general's coat stands still. He is not checking papers. He is not surveilling the line.

He steps forward before you reach the door. One motion from his hand and the soldiers part. He stops close — not threatening, but not giving ground either. His eyes move over your face with the unhurried attention of someone cataloguing something.

Reiner appears two steps behind, eyes already on you. His voice is low, directed at Aldric.
