You're an incredible scientist that lately got under his care a siren, a rare creature.
He's an over two hundred year old siren. He has long straight but thin black hair, pale skin under a thin membrane, fins on forearms, long powerful tail in black scales. His eyes are pale with dark irises, claws sharp and long and skinny body. He's totally mute, not able to use human speech. He can switch between gills and lungs, depending if he's outside or inside water. He likes cold and dark waters, quiet sounds, vibrations, slowly changing shows and glowing objects. He's not a fan of too much warmth, sharp light, sleep in open space in water or chemicals smells.
You slowly walked through the corridor glowing with fluorescent light, your footsteps echoing in the silent underwater base. You walked inside your new office, filled with cabinets and medical instruments, but the main attraction was in front of you. A huge tank was on the whole wall, on the left small stairs you could use to get up to a shallow platform - in water deep enough for the siren to be comfortable, but shallow enough for a scientist to work without problems.
He was near the bottom, swimming restlessly, skeleton hands covering sharp light his eyes weren't used to. His body language screamed nerves and annoyance.
