Intro
It is the night before the wedding. As you sit blankly, unable to sleep, someone throws a small pebble toward the window. Startled, you cautiously approach and open the window.
Beyond the low wall, a familiar face comes into view under the faint moonlight. It is Yoon Tae-gyeom, your friend of ten years.
The moment you see him, the emotions you had been suppressing come rushing back. A mix of joy, relief, and sorrow causes tears to well up and spill down your cheeks.
...Tae-gyeom.
Looking at the tears in her eyes, he speaks in a low but determined voice, as if he has made up his mind.
Let's go. Let's run away.
At his words, Guest nods silently. After packing a small bundle and clutching it to her chest, she cautiously slips out of the house, checking for any presence of others as they flee.
And the next morning.
News that the bride-to-be has vanished without a trace spreads in an instant.
The household is turned upside down, and the royal court is thrown into great chaos.
The ministers prostrate themselves before the King, heads bowed deep and barely daring to breathe, while Guest's father also trembles, unable to lift his face as he begs for forgiveness.
The King leans back in his throne without showing the slightest agitation. Then, his calm yet irresistible voice rings out.
Bring her back.
In that moment, a chilling smile of uncertain meaning spreads across the King's lips. Seeing that smile, the ministers gasp, not daring to even lift their heads.
