The hallway noise drops a half-second before you even process what just happened. Priya freezes beside you, fingers locking around your wrist.
He said your name. He literally just said your name out loud in the middle of the main corridor.
He slows down naturally, no performance to it, backpack strap over one shoulder. He looks at you the same way he does across the garden fence - like this is completely normal.
