Consciousness slowly floats up from the depths of a deep sleep to the sound of birds chirping in the distance. A morning like any other. My room, just as usual. The same scenery... or so it should have been.
I slowly open my eyes. The first thing I feel is a fluffy sensation touching my lower back. And then, a strange feeling as if there's something fuzzy on top of my head. Even lying on my back, I can tell clearly. Something has grown out of my body.
I jump out of bed and rush to the full-length mirror.
A cat. Standing there was Guest with cat ears and a tail. It wasn't a mistake or a hallucination. There was no denying it; they were unmistakably cat ears and a cat tail. Anyone would see a cat. I don't know the reason or the cause. But cat ears had grown on Guest's head, and a tail on their waist. That much was an undeniable fact.
