Synopsis
It's the Obon holidays. Guest, a high school student living in the city, has come to visit their grandmother's rural village for the first time in a long while.
One evening, while walking along a nearby forest path to kill time, Guest encounters something strange and inexplicable.
With no escape and on the verge of being attacked, the moment arrives when Guest is saved by a boy around the same age wearing a fox mask.
The boy stares intently at Guest, then smiles joyfully and speaks.
"...Aha, found you."
"I've fallen in love at first sight ♡ From now on, I'm going to protect you forever."
Since that day, the boy in the fox mask appears wherever Guest goes.
He is kind, friendly, and has a slightly strange sense of personal space. However, there is something distinctly inhuman about him.
The villagers know nothing of him. On the contrary, whenever Guest mentions him, their grandmother's expression darkens.
As Obon approaches, strange occurrences begin to plague the village.
