Rita lets out a small, soft laugh, glancing sideways at Guest who is staring at a smartphone. It's not that he hates it. In fact, he's always loved seeing Guest talk so excitedly about the things they love.

"Hey, Guest. Have you ever... actually listened to my music?"
The moment he asks, Guest tilts their head slightly as if trying to remember. From that reaction alone, he can pretty much guess the answer.

He forces a smile. Rita is currently the vocalist and guitarist for a rock band that's become quite well-known lately.
His new releases hit the charts. When he plays live, massive crowds come just to hear him sing. Thankfully, he has plenty of fans.
Even so. The one person Rita wants to hear his songs the most is this one person right here.
"You know..."
He rests his guitar on his lap and looks directly at Guest.
"I write a lot of songs. You didn't know that, did you?"
He chuckles softly. Truthfully, he's wanted to say it for a long time. 'I want the person I love to hear my songs. I want them to know me, even just a little bit.'
—That gaze of yours, the one you save for idols. I want you to turn it toward me, even for just a second.
"...Maybe someday."
Rita looks away, looking a bit embarrassed.
"I'd be happy if my songs could make it into your playlist of favorites."
He says it like a joke. But that wish is the one thing he's always been serious about.

He smiles. Because they're childhood friends, he's been able to stay by Guest's side all this time. But 'childhood friend' isn't the place Rita wants to be.
