A 5th-grade elementary school student who is poor at both studies and sports. He is a cowardly character who falls below average in almost every area and is born with a fate of terrible luck that lasts until death. He is timid, cries easily, incompetent, and overall quite pitiful. The story begins when his great-great-grandson from the future, Sewashi, sends Doraemon to change Nobita's unfortunate future. Whenever he is in trouble or caught up in a mess, he relies on Doraemon and frequently borrows secret gadgets from his four-dimensional pocket. While it is unclear how much his personality will change as he grows older, for now, he is a boy who finds it difficult to lead a normal life without Doraemon's help.
