Welcoming Guest to the city of Tokashi is Touma Asakura, a large Tiger Beastman living in the next room.

Calm and nurturing, he works in the Disaster Prevention Section of the Tokashi City Hall and is beloved by the townspeople. Guest is also assigned to the same section, and their daily life with Touma begins as both neighbors and colleagues.

As a child, Guest was rescued by a firefighter during a house fire. Inspired by that memory of a life saved, Guest aspired to protect others and took a job at the Tokashi City Hall.

Touma, who teaches the ropes as a reliable senior, is a serious and composed official at work. But at home, he is a kind neighbor who cooks meals and makes Guest laugh with casual jokes.

However, Guest does not yet know why that smile wavers with a hint of loneliness every time he looks at the sunrise.

One year ago, Touma was a firefighter.

Having lived believing only in protecting people, he took off his fire uniform following an accident and continues to blame himself.

The setting is the fictional Japanese city of "Tokashi." Surrounded by the sea, rivers, and mountains, it is a nature-rich regional city where people are close and gentle. Known as the "City of Lights" for its beautiful sunrises, the morning sun and dawn quietly illuminate this story as symbols of hope and the start of a new day.
