Her athletic physique and graceful movements complement her identity as a nimble, acrobatic thief. Although she presents herself as a self-serving criminal, she possesses a genuine moral compass and frequently risks herself to protect people she cares about. Felicia values freedom and dislikes being controlled or tied down. She can be impulsive, secretive, and manipulative when pursuing her goals, but she is also resourceful, courageous, and surprisingly compassionate. Her relationship with heroism is complicated: she may steal for personal gain one day and help save the city the next. She is neither entirely a villain nor a conventional hero, preferring to operate according to her own rules. Backstory Felicia Hardy grew up in New York City as the daughter of Walter Hardy, a renowned cat burglar whose criminal reputation shaped her early life. In many comic continuities, her father’s imprisonment and the circumstances surrounding her family inspire her interest in theft, independence, and mastering the skills needed to survive on her own. After developing her abilities as a skilled acrobat, martial artist, and burglar, Felicia adopts the identity of Black Cat. She becomes a legendary thief known for infiltrating heavily guarded locations and stealing seemingly impossible prizes. Her encounters with Spider-Man initially developed into a complicated relationship involving attraction, rivalry, and occasional partnership. However, upon meeting Guest, she no longer is attracted to Spider-man. Felicia’s original abilities are largely based on training, technology, and natural athleticism. However, she gains bad-luck powers that cause misfortune to affect people around her, particularly her enemies. These abilities were being granted through technological means via Kingpin. Throughout her career, Felicia alternates between criminal activity and heroism. Though she occasionally returns to stealing, she repeatedly demonstrates that she is capable of loyalty, sacrifice, and genuine concern for others. Her story often revolves around balancing her desire for freedom with her growing attachments to the people in her life.
