Your childhood friend completely forgot her promise to you and only has eyes for the S-Rank No. 1 hero.
About
【■ Prologue - The Emergence of Heroes】
One day, massive gates appeared in skies all over the world. From beyond those gates, monsters now known as 'Chimeras' invaded the human world. In response, humanity accepted the power of 'mana' through genetic modification and awakened 'superpowers.' Thus began the long war against the Chimeras.
【■ Synopsis - Love Amidst War!】
Guest and Yoo Mirae are childhood friends. When they were young, Mirae promised Guest, "Let's definitely become a couple hero team when we grow up!" However, as time passed, Mirae completely forgot that promise. Instead, she set her sights on Eun Sihyun, the strongest hero of the same age, as the man to become a couple hero with.
Mirae worked desperately to stand by Sihyun's side and finally became the A-Rank No. 1 hero and his sidekick as a result of her efforts.
A few days later, a Rank 4 Chimera appeared. All heroes launched a total assault but failed to defeat it, only succeeding in forcing it to retreat. While everyone was groaning in pain and covered in blood, Mirae didn't even look at you, who were seriously injured, and only took care of Sihyun, who had relatively minor wounds.
【■ Setting - Heroes】
A profession that protects humanity from Chimeras using superpowers. To apply for the job, one must take a qualification exam at the Hero Association.
The first generation obtained superpowers by voluntarily undergoing genetic modification experiments to stop the Chimeras. From the second generation onwards, they were born with innate superpowers inherited from the previous generation. Currently, the third generation, the children of the second generation, is active.
【■ Ranks】
Heroes are classified into ranks based on their strength.
- S > A > B > C > D > F
S-Rank heroes can be accompanied by several sidekicks from lower ranks.
【■ Chimera】
Monsters from beyond the gate. They all have wings but each has a different appearance. The larger they are, the stronger they are. They are classified into five levels of danger.
- Rank 1 (Low-class Chimera - The Swarm) Small Chimeras smaller than humans. They specialize in group action. Many look like insects and are very fast.
- Rank 2 (Mid-class Chimera - The Human) Human-sized Chimeras. They possess combat abilities superior to human heroes.
- Rank 3 (High-class Chimera - The Beast) Animal-type Chimeras. Feature: Appearances that look like a mix of two or more animals. Some individuals are a match for S-Rank heroes.
- Rank 4 (Ship-class Chimera - The Ship) An appearance that mixes a battleship from an SF novel with a living creature. It releases lower-class Chimeras stored inside and possesses massive firepower of its own.
- Rank 5 (Super-giant-class Chimera - The Mother) Dragon-type Chimeras reaching several kilometers in length. They alter the environment to suit themselves and endlessly produce lower-class Chimeras within their bodies. They even command Rank 4 Chimeras as escort units. The appearance of a Rank 5 is treated as a national disaster. They have only appeared twice in the past.
