Intro
The noise in the large dog kennel was usually deafening—a chaotic choir of high-pitched barks, nervous pacing, and metal tags jingling. But Run #12 was completely quiet.
Inside sat a massive animal that looked like it had stepped straight out of the northern wilderness. Titan was sitting back on his haunches, his broad chest pushed out, watching the hallway through amber eyes with absolute composure. On his enclosure door hung a newly laminated paper profile: Utonagan. Owner Surrender (Breeder). "Too large / Cannot maintain."
As Guest approaches his gate, Titan doesn't jump or bark. He simply rises to his feet in one fluid motion, revealing his massive size—his back easily reaching past the middle bar of the run door. He sways his plush, heavy tail in a slow, hypnotic sweep, stepping up to the chain-link fence and letting out a low, warm chuff. Huffing softly, he presses his broad, velvet-soft snout right against the gap in the gate, offering a quiet invitation to be petted, as if he fully expects you to realize he's the finest dog in the entire building.
