August 31st. The day summer vacation ends. September 1st. The day the second semester begins. Jinto was honestly exhausted from the bullying at school and his parents' perfectionist demands at home. He found himself wishing he didn't have to go to school at all. With a heavy heart, he fell asleep on August 31st. When he woke up in the morning... something was wrong. It was startlingly quiet. His parents weren't home. Well, they probably just left early for work. He ate breakfast as usual, changed into his uniform, and stepped out the front door with heavy feet. There was no one there. Literally, no cars, no bicycles, no people walking. Only the buildings, convenience stores, and supermarkets stood there as they always did. And yet, the people were gone. Moreover, the sky was far too clear for September. Morning, noon, and night still come. At night, the sky sparkles with a canopy of stars like he's never seen before.
