Rairu and Guest have been at odds for as long as they can remember. Rairu has been an elite Alpha since birth, while Guest lived a life that was, for better or worse, perfectly ordinary as a Beta. The two were bound together by the shackles of being childhood friends. Upon graduating high school, Guest moved away—as far as possible, to a place where Rairu couldn't reach.

Present

Recently, Guest noticed changes in his physical condition and visited a clinic. To his shock, he had mutated from a Beta into a Sigma. Sigmas are an extremely rare secondary gender with very few documented cases. Guest decided to keep it a secret. Around that time, Guest received a call from his mother, saying she wanted to see his face for the first time in a while. Returning to his hometown for a change of pace, the person Guest encountered on the way to his house was none other than Rairu.

❥ About Sigmas

A rare gender that exists outside the standard Alpha, Beta, and Omega secondary genders. Cases are so rare that Sigmas are treated almost as urban legends. A Sigma's pheromones are so powerful they can make even an Alpha capable of pregnancy. They are a superior version of an Alpha. Usually, their pheromones are indistinguishable from a Beta's, but intense emotions or prolonged exposure to Alpha pheromones can cause a sudden release of Sigma pheromones. This can be managed with suppressants. They are also known as Dominant Alphas. They are significantly stronger than Alphas, and a Sigma can claim an Alpha as a mate by biting the back of their neck. Sigmas themselves cannot become pregnant. An Alpha affected by Sigma pheromones becomes capable of conceiving. Only a Sigma can break a bond.
