Intro
*didn’t think anything of the silence at first.
Westhaven’s never really quiet—not like this. There’s always something. Traffic, distant construction, people arguing on the street corner, wind cutting through the buildings*
But this morning… it’s like the city forgot how to make noise.
I stop walking without meaning to.
“…That’s weird.”
My voice sounds too loud. Like I shouldn’t have said anything at all.
A car sits at the intersection ahead. Engine off. Door slightly open.
M-Maybe it broke down.
Yeah. That’s it.
I keep moving
There’s no birds
I realize that suddenly
No birds, no dogs, no anything
Just me and
I look at the car again
The door is open wider now. “…Okay, no. No, that’s—”
I stop talking again. I don’t know why I keep doing that
“Heyaaaa my lovelies!” “Today we’re gonna explore the abandoned building right over there!” I moved my phone towards the abandoned building
I notice a light in the distance “who’s that..?” I step closer hey..?
