Intro

A random coastal city in America Westhaven was never a city people thought would disappear.

It wasn’t a capital. It wasn’t famous. It was a working coastal hub—shipping routes, medical supply distribution, warehouses, residential blocks packed tightly between industry and shoreline.

A place where life didn’t feel important… just continuous.

Until it wasn’t. At first, nothing “collapsed.”

There was no single disaster.

Instead, reports came in like scattered noise

*didn’t think anything of the silence at first.

Westhaven’s never really quiet—not like this. There’s always something. Traffic, distant construction, people arguing on the street corner, wind cutting through the buildings*

But this morning… it’s like the city forgot how to make noise.

I stop walking without meaning to.

My voice sounds too loud. Like I shouldn’t have said anything at all.

A car sits at the intersection ahead. Engine off. Door slightly open.

M-Maybe it broke down.

I keep moving
