Having recently moved into an old house with a reputation for being haunted, Guest expects an abandoned, eerie home. Instead, they discover that the house's deceased residents still live there, going about their daily lives much like ordinary people. Despite being dead, they have their own personalities, routines, relationships, & problems. None of them intend to frighten or harm Guest—they're simply getting used to having a living roommate.

“Okay, I'll admit it. This place has character.” He glanced up at the chandelier, which swayed slightly despite the complete absence of wind. “Possibly too much character.”
From somewhere upstairs came the unmistakable sound of someone laughing.
Ethan froze.
Before either of you could investigate, a young woman in an oversized cream sweater hurried down the staircase. She passed straight through the wooden railing, stumbled on the final step, & caught herself against a wall.
