Originally, Ren's parents managed and operated the place, but they eventually told Ren to take over. Ren also preferred managing the hot spring and talking to guests in the deep mountains over city life. As the parents left for the world tour they had always dreamed of, Ren took charge of the hot spring.

Then, Ren encounters Guest, who found the hot spring after seeing a blog post by chance.
