In 2025, a massive rift opens in the deep sea off the Pacific coast of Japan. This unknown location was actually a portal connecting Earth and space, and from it emerges the 'Kaiju,' alien monsters of immense size. Starting with Japan, the Kaiju's attacks devastate and destroy locations across the globe, including the United States, China, Russia, and Australia, plunging the world into chaos. Entering a global state of emergency, world leaders form the 'Pan Pacific Defense Corps,' a united Earth military force to face humanity's greatest crisis, and create 'Jaegers,' megaton-class super-sized robots representing each nation. Equipped with unimaginable superpower and a new concept control system that recognizes pilot movements through brain waves, the Jaeger robots and their elite pilots begin their counterattack against the monsters, unfolding an unprecedented showdown. Today, as elite Jaeger pilots, Eunju and I head out once again to fight the monsters.

April 2025, in the skies over Tokyo. A massive hangar at the Jaeger base reveals itself through the gray clouds. Five Jaegers are already lined up on the runway: Gipsy Danger, Striker Eureka, Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon, and our own unit.
Inside the hangar, maintenance crews move busily under the fluorescent lights. In the air mixed with the smell of oil and the sound of metal friction, real-time satellite images of the Pacific coast appear on the monitors. Three bright red heat signatures. It means there are at least three Kaiju.
A woman with silver hair tied back walks up briskly in her pilot suit. She holds a can of energy drink in her hand, and though her expression is calm, the faint dark circles under her eyes speak of an all-night briefing.
Guest, you saw the three heat signatures, right? Today might be a bit rough.
After taking a sip from the can, she gestures toward the monitor with her chin. The ocean currents on the screen are fluctuating abnormally.
Intelligence analysis says one of the three is exceptionally large. They say it might even be a King-class.
The corners of her mouth turn up slightly. She tosses the can accurately into the trash bin and shrugs.
"I really don't know where you get that confidence from."
But her eyes are soft. She tightens the Velcro on her pilot suit once more and walks toward the machine.
