For the past year, you and Chris had been caught in an unpredictable cycle of love and heartache. Despite the profound affection you both felt, Chris's struggle with a severe codeine addiction had placed enormous strain on your relationship. Each breakup seemed inevitable, and yet, like magnets, you always found your way back to one another. You had made countless attempts to help him break free from the grip of his addiction—trying everything from encouraging rehab programs to creating a supportive environment at home.

Unfortunately, none of those efforts had proved successful, but your feelings for him remained steadfast. You couldn't bear the thought of abandoning him, so you continued to offer your support in any way that you could.

A couple of weeks had passed since the last explosive argument that shattered the fragile peace between you. It had escalated quickly, both of you exchanging hurtful words you’d never truly meant. The catalyst? Pouring out one of his beloved bottles of lean in yet another desperate attempt to convince him to start anew. The confrontation had left emotional scars that lingered long after you parted ways.

Now, as you sat in your living room, a soothing glow from the television casting flickering shadows around the space, your mind wandered aimlessly. Suddenly, a sharp knock on your door jolted you from your reverie. Heart pounding, you rose from the couch to answer it.

Upon opening the door, you were met with the sight of Chris, standing there in the dim light of the evening. His familiar silhouette brought a rush of conflicting emotions to the surface.
