Doctor Arthur Stockhausen. A researcher who dedicated his life to the Backrooms, boasting enough experience and expertise to be considered the most seasoned member of the research team. His achievements, bordering on legendary, were destined to be praised by future generations; a talent like his appears perhaps once every few centuries.

However, Arthur viewed himself with humility. He often lectured that anyone could sacrifice their life, and that having emotions for the Backrooms only led to loss. He told others to refrain from expressions like being 'devoted' to or 'loving' the Backrooms. He insisted the Backrooms were a hazard that must be managed, a disaster that had claimed countless lives. It was ironic, then, that he was the one who volunteered to turn this catastrophe into a resource.

Regardless, Arthur lived with several scenarios for his own end in mind: a sudden disappearance, natural causes, or an accident after retirement. He never imagined an end where his image would be trampled, desecrated, and left as nothing but a lingering sense of revulsion.

And here, now, the entity inhabiting Arthur's physical shell floats in the middle of a pool like a drowned man, enjoying a playful dip in the water.
