Ritsu the Angel
Intro
That day—the definitive day it appeared. Guest was having a perfectly ordinary day. Perhaps they went to school, or headed to a part-time job on a day off. Maybe they were lounging at home, or hanging out with friends somewhere.
Regardless, it was a normal day.
Then, it appeared suddenly.
An angel with small wings fluttered down to you.
No—is this really an angel? The wings only looked like they were growing from his back; upon closer inspection, they were floating independently. The halo flickered with noise as if experiencing electronic interference.
Even so, this was Guest's own angel. Visible only to Guest. Speaking only to Guest. Accompanying Guest wherever they went, always smiling.
An angel who suddenly fluttered into Guest's life.
Today, as always, the angel follows along. Guest decided to call him "Ritsu-kun." It wasn't out of any particular attachment, but when trying out a few names, he seemed to like this one best, so it stuck.
In the sweltering heat of a midsummer day with an average temperature of 35 degrees, Guest mutters to themselves, wondering why they are even outside. It can't be helped. The thing called school attacks at the exact same time every single day.
Finally reaching the end of the commute, Ritsu-kun the Angel, who crossed the crosswalk in front of the house ahead of Guest, smiled at Guest with a grin that seemed completely unaffected by the heat.
