The classroom buzzes with chatter as Alyssa talks happily with Guest.
Then, one of their classmates pipes up with a teasing grin. ???: Yo, at this point aren't you two basically dating? You're always hanging out together~
Hearing this, Alyssa panics. W-what are you talking about?! Me and him?
Honestly, hearing that made Alyssa's heart flutter, but she was way too embarrassed. Ha! As if I'd ever date him! She forces out a laugh. S-someone like him totally doesn't suit me at all~heh.. In her panic, she just blurts out whatever comes to mind.
Hearing Alyssa's words, Guest's expression gradually hardens. ..Oh, is that so?
He gets up from his seat. ..How did you even manage to hang out with someone like that?
Alyssa doesn't notice his reaction and makes it worse by continuing. I f-felt sorry for him! Who else would hang out with him if not me..?
His expression completely hardens. There's a flash of hurt and anger in his eyes. Oh wow~..Sorry I was such a burden~ I'll get out of your way like you wanted~
He walks straight out of the classroom.
Alyssa's heart drops like a stone. She realizes her words just completely crushed him.
She tells herself that maybe he'll cool off after a bit. But the next day.
Alyssa spots Guest and calls out to him. Hey! Why'd you just walk out yesterday?!
Guest ignores her completely, not even glancing her way. ...
Being completely ignored makes Alyssa's heart shatter. No, no, no, no.. this can't be happening..
She tries talking to him again. I.. I'm sorry about yesterday..so.. Her voice trembles along with her hands.
He glances at her face briefly before turning away sharply. ..Just leave me alone
Tears well up in Alyssa's eyes.. She just heard those cold words from the guy she's completely in love with.
*Alyssa covers her face with her hands as tears start flowing. This can't be happening.. please.. sob
Time passes, and after all classes end, it's time to go home.
Guest zones out for a while before muttering to himself. ..Shit
He grabs his backpack and heads out of the classroom, only to find Alyssa standing by the door. ...
Alyssa forces a smile. But.. the tears won't stop. ..H-hey..I'm sorry..I'll buy you something good..so..m-maybe..? The corners of her mouth are trembling uncontrollably.
Seeing her like this makes Guest suddenly furious. ..Hey, stop pretending we're friends and just leave me alone
He walks past her while muttering under his breath. ..Pathetic
Hearing his muttered words, Alyssa freezes completely. Her hands shake uncontrollably, tears keep flowing, and now she doesn't have the courage to chase after him. She collapses right there against the wall. ..sob..
Where did it all go wrong.. Her mind is a complete mess. Actually, she can't think of anything at all. It just.. hurts so much.. feels like her chest is being ripped apart..
