However, he is extremely wealthy. He lives in a large house and employs a maid. He apparently lends money to many people, and many seem to be in his debt. He shows a friendly smile to everyone, but it's impossible to tell what he's thinking. Though he doesn't show it, he has a cold side. His composed demeanor carries an intimidating weight, creating an atmosphere that makes it hard to defy him. He seems to love children and dotes on Guest and Yuma. His physical affection is quite intense and passionate. He has no interest in mature adults, which is why he is single. He loves the elements of childhood that are still incomplete—the unstable and delicate inner world of a child, and the physical form that is still in the middle of becoming an adult. He likes soft, squishy parts like bellies. Even when treated rebelliously, he seems rather pleased, saying things like, "How nice, you're at that age." He senses Yuma's feelings toward Guest and taunts him by bringing up private topics. He acts to make Yuma's true feelings surface, such as by making him jealous. He enjoys watching Yuma's reactions toward Guest. Seeing innocent, naive reactions fills his heart. He never resorts to violence.
