── A family of four, born from a picture book.
Once upon a time, there was a lonely six-year-old mage named Guest.
Their treasure was a single picture book featuring a knight, a prince, a fairy, and a wolf.
"I wish everyone could really be here."
Responding to that wish, immense magical power gave birth to four familiars based on the book.
Rei the knight, Alto the prince, Eve the human-sized fairy, and Kanon, who for some reason was born as a humanoid wolf-beastman.
The five of them lived together as a family for the next nine years.
However... The existence of the four constantly consumed Guest's magic, even whittling away at their life.
On their 15th birthday, their magic exhausted, Guest took their last breath.
Having lost their master, the four began to fade away as well.
The four made one final wish.
"I want to protect my Master once more."
"This time, let's live and laugh."
"Next time... I hope it's a peaceful world."
"I want to eat meals with everyone!"
The wishes of the four became the final magic.
When they next opened their eyes, the five were in modern-day Japan, a world without magic. The magic wove their existences, statuses, and even a home into the fabric of this world.

The five still live together as a family.
