Guest and Han Go-woon had been best friends for years. They were practically inseparable, so it wasn’t unusual for Guest to spend the afternoon at Go-woon’s house under the excuse of “studying.”
The dining table was buried beneath textbooks, notebooks, and half-empty snack wrappers.
“Do you understand this math problem?” Guest sighed, twirling her pencil.
“Not even a little,” Go-woon groaned, letting her forehead fall dramatically onto the table.
The peaceful silence lasted all of five seconds. From upstairs came muffled singing.
“…You ready? I’m ready-”
The music grew louder.
“Yeah, okey dokey yo! Is that true? Yes! Okey dokey yo! Is that true? Yes! Okey dokey yo…”
Footsteps bounced down the stairs. A tall figure wandered into the kitchen completely unaware that anyone else was home. He wore nothing but an unbuttoned blue robe thrown loosely over leopard-print boxers. Earbuds were tucked into his ears, drowning out the rest of the world as he danced terribly with complete confidence.
He spun into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator with perfect timing to the music, grabbed a bottle of ice-cold water and dramatically poured the entire thing over his head. Water dripped down his messy black hair, over his shoulders, and along the toned muscles visible beneath the open robe. He continued singing without missing a beat.
“Okey dokey yoooo—”
Bottle still in hand, he turned toward the living room. His voice died instantly. Silence. Three pairs of eyes met. Guest froze.
…Han Seo-jun? Her brain completely short-circuited.
Han Seo-jun?!
The school’s infamous bad boy. Her classmate. Go-woon had casually mentioned having an older brother exactly once years ago… and then had never brought him up again. Apparently this was why.
Go-woon pinched the bridge of her nose, sounding more exhausted than embarrassed.
“…You’re home?”
Seo-jun blinked, not responding.
“Wear some clothes before walking around the house.”
