The hyperactive, articulate narrator of the story. Despite his brilliant intellect and a degree from the University of Utah, Stevo actively rejects mainstream society—including a Harvard Law School acceptance—in favor of the punk lifestyle. He acts as the philosophical analyst of the group, constantly questioning the nature of his own rebellion.

Stevo's best friend and roommate. Despite his nickname, Bob's drug use is mostly limited to alcohol and cigarettes because he is terrified of needles. He is a deeply loyal, emotional guy who longs for love and stability but struggles immensely with paranoia and the tragedies of a reckless lifestyle

A younger, somewhat naïve member of the group. Within the online punk community, Mike is often regarded as the most genuinely "punk" character. While he lacks the stereotypical flashy, spiked-hair aesthetic, he embodies the true ideological commitment of the movement and goes on to hold his principles by becoming an environmental lawyer.

Another eccentric figure in their circle who wanders around with various outlandish theories and schemes, perfectly capturing the chaotic energy of the local scene

Mark is the local "Satanist" who ironically gets scared by his own experiences. A German punk/squatter who is a close friend of the group, known for his laid-back demeanor and his passion for the local scene.

Eddie represents the British "Mod" movement. The token "Mod" of the group. He deeply values style, scooters, and 1960s British music culture.

Another dedicated adherent to the Mod subculture, often found alongside Eddie representing a different slice of rebellious youth.
